Fitness Programs Target Specialized Training

Current Special Programs:

Self-Defense Classes

Learn the basic fundamentals of self-defense including combative strikes, defense tactics, crime prevention and dynamic responses to common street attacks. Krav Maga teaches students to defend themselves against hostile actions, to avoid injury and to quickly overcome their assailant. This class is led by Christopher Kellogg of Krav Maga South Park. This class is free to YWCA Members and YWCA Staff. 
 
When: The first Thursday of each month at 5:30pm 
Where: Multipurpose Room
Rate: Free for YWCA Members and YWCA Staff

Master Your Swim

This adult swim program is designed as a fun swim team style workout for all levels of swimmers 18 years old and up! Prerequisite includes swimming 100 yards of continuous freestyle.

Meets: Tuesdays at 6:30pm
Where: YWCA Central Carolinas Indoor Pool
Rates: Register for the entire series for $85, or drop in for a single class for $15

YDub Tri Club Short Distance Triathlon Training

Coaches will teach you everything you need to know to get you to the finish line of your next tri. Cycle inside, swim in an indoor, heated pool and run local neighborhood routes.

Meets: Tuesdays at 6:30pm for Swim/Cycle | Thursdays at 6:30pm for Strength/Run | Saturdays at 8am for Cycle/Run
Where: YWCA Central Carolinas, Industrial Strength Fitness & Outdoors
Rates: $200 for YWCA Members | $225 for Non-Members

Fit For Summer Bootcamp

Build strength, increase endurance, have fun, and get ‘Fit for Summer’ with Coach Franky! Sleds, ropes, tires, sandbags, kettlebells, rowers, and good ol’ fashion bodyweight workouts will be utilized! All fitness levels welcome! 

Meets: Thursdays at 6:30pm 
Where: Industrial Strength Fitness Gym (located at YWCA Central Carolinas)
Rates: Register for the entire series for $85, or drop in for a single class of $15

YDub Tri Club

YWCA's YDub-tri-club team

Have you ever wanted to compete in a triathlon? From first timers to experienced competitors, we offer seasonal group and 1:1 trainings. Led by certified USAT Coach Jody Frazier and her team of coaches, you’ll be led step-by-step through swimming, biking and running drills over a multi-week period. Build friendships with your fellow athletes and feel the pride of crossing the finish line. The session includes a practice triathlon, preview of the race course and an abundance of support from your fellow YDubbers. Check this page seasonally for training and fee information.
