A Modified ‘Love to Lift’ Workout

One of the group exercise classes that YWCA Central Carolinas offers at our co-ed facility is ‘Love to Lift.’ ‘Love to Lift’ is a no sweat, head to toe body sculpting class for those that hate to lift weights but know they need to. This is a modified class compared to what Starr, our director of fitness, regularly teaches due to the lack of equipment, but is guaranteed to get as close to the real thing!

MAKE SURE TO WARM UP 

  • 15 alternating backward lunges
  • 15 inner grip rows  

REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 wide stance plie squats with latissimus raise 
  • 15 wide grip rows for upper back 

REPEAT ABOVE

  • 15 pushups 
  • Roll on back do tricep extensions 

REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 squats 
  • 15 inner chest tricep pushups 

REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 Straight leg deadlifts 
  • 10 calve raises, feet forward, heels together, toes together 

REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 Bicep curls front 
  • 15 tricep kick backs 

 REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 Bicep hammer curl 
  • 15 Shoulder side raises 

REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 Tricep overhead extensions 
  • 15 Shoulder front raises 

REPEAT ABOVE 

  • 15 Butt busters right and left leg 

REPEAT ABOVE 

Abs 

  • 20-30 reps roll on back and do leg lifts 
  • 20-30 reps upper ab crunches 
  • 20-30 reps leg crossovers 
  • 20-30 reps of right and left side obliques
