Across the country, Giving Tuesday has become a part of the Thanksgiving Holiday shopping season. From Black Friday to Small Business Saturday to Cyber Monday, and then Giving Tuesday. This day is for individuals to support their nonprofits by donating their time and money. Across Charlotte, this campaign has been called #GivingTuesdayCLT and hundred of nonprofits across the city take part.
During two weeks in November, beginning on November 14 and ending on Giving Tuesday (this year, November 28), nonprofits, including YWCA Central Carolinas, give donors a deeper look into their programs. For Charlotte’s YWCA, our nonprofit programs provide transitional housing for formerly homeless women and their families, and we provide ten youth learning centers for after-school literacy in fragile neighborhoods across Mecklenburg and Union counties.
When supporters donate during this important time, their gifts will be matched.
