We are delighted to share with you an exciting update on YWCA’s affordable housing initiative. Myers Park United Methodist Church has awarded $1 million in support of YWCA’s future affordable housing as our cornerstone faith partner for the project! Please join us in thanking Myers Park United Methodist Church for their commitment to affordable housing in our community.
As you know, YWCA Central Carolinas and DreamKey Partners are proud to be transforming the front lawn of our 10-acre property into 104 affordable housing units. These units will be reserved for households earning 30%-60% area median income – between $28,250 and $56,520 for a family of four. They are desperately needed as one solution to Charlotte’s ever-growing affordable housing crisis. Construction for this affordable housing project will begin in the fall of this year, and we expect these beautiful new units will be move-in ready for their first tenants in 2025.
As housing prices in Charlotte continue to rise, YWCA is committed to providing stable and affordable housing for our community. We are grateful for Myers Park United Methodist Church’s generous support of this important project that offers one solution to Charlotte’s affordable housing crisis.
We hope you’ll take a look at this video, which Myers Park United Methodist Church used to announce the good news to their congregation!
