Pamela G. Senegal, Ed.D
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Dr. Pamela Gibson Senegal proudly joined the YWCA Central Carolinas as the new CEO in early March, 2025. Previously, she served as President of Piedmont Community College since 2017.
A dedicated lifelong learner, she continues to expand her knowledge, recently completing an ECU Honors Seminar in Economic Development, the Duke University NC Leadership Forum, and the prestigious Aspen New President’s Leadership Fellowship. This year, she has been selected as one of just 25 leaders nationwide to participate in the second cohort of the Aspen Institute’s President Fellowship program, an experience being customized for her new nonprofit focus.
With more than 25 years of experience spanning both industry and education, Dr. Senegal is deeply committed to ensuring that equitable opportunities are accessible to all communities. Her expertise in economic development and partnership creation has made a lasting impact throughout her career. Beyond her leadership in education, Dr. Senegal is a dedicated public servant, serving on numerous boards, including EdNC, the NC Turnpike Authority, and the NC Leadership Forum. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Senegal earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish, a Master’s in Public Administration, and a Doctorate in Adult and Community College Education—all from North Carolina State University. She is the proud mother of three accomplished sons—all Eagle Scouts—two of whom are graduates of Hampton University and Winston-Salem State University, and one who is currently a senior at Piedmont Community College’s Person Early College for Innovation and Leadership (PECIL).
