Kenya T. Henderson

As the Director of Families Together (FT), Kenya oversees ten housing units located on the YWCA Park Road campus and provides support and case management for the families living there. She has worked with FT since the inception of the program since 2008. Since overseeing the program, Kenya implemented “Operation Track a Family” which helped to contact all families that were enrolled in Families Together since its inception.

Previously, Kenya worked as a Director of Early Childhood Education and has her B.A in Child and Family Development from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte as well as a certificate in Non Profit Management from Duke University and is a Certified Professional Life Coach.

Kenya is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Junior League of Charlotte, Charlotte Mecklenburg County NAACP, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW – NC) serving on the equity & inclusion committee, Mecklenburg County Community Engagement Task Group Member and is currently working on her Masters in Social Work from Temple University.
